Lesson
Show kids why it is important to recharge so they have the energy to make fit choices.
The lessons in this unit present the four parts of fit—recharge, mood, food, and move—and how they connect and support a healthy lifestyle. Students will learn that having a fit mindset is about having enough energy and the motivation to make healthy nutrition and physical activity choices. Encourage healthy choices throughout the day by downloading the Healthy Choice Posters and the ABCs of a Healthy Me for your classroom or hallway!
Kids turn and talk to define the word recharge. Then make a list together of ways you can recharge your energy without screen time.

Angela and Jayson Recharge
The slideshow presents a story about Angela and Jayson who are tired after helping to clean up the playground. Angela eats a sugary snack and plays video games, but still feels tired. Jayson decides to relax outside to recharge his energy.
Compare and contrast Angela and Jayson's choices.
Recharge Your Energy
Compare students’ daily routines to Jayson. Where can they cut screen time? Where can they relax without a screen? Use the fit Recharge Word Search to get kids thinking about ways they can recharge their energy and reduce screen time.
